The Ikoria and Commander 2020 are spiking cards left and right. Like every week, just in time for (digital) FNM, I'll now tell you about the cards that will be the talk of the (digital) town tonight!

#1 Decree of Silence $22.99 + Decree of Annihilation $9.81 (+370-400%)

Decree of Silence

Let's discuss these two card together, since they are from the same set, same cycle (pun intended), and spiked for the same reason. Guess why they spiked? They have cycling with a powerful ability that triggers when you cycle the card. Not only are the abilities quite strong, but you can also do them at instant speed because of the cycling.

Sure, and is quite a lot of mana, but with the new cards spoiled in Commander 2020 that revolve around cycling this cost can be mitigated or made even more powerful. Let's take Gavi, Nest Warden for example. It makes every first card you cycle free each turn.

I can definitely image people creating EDH decks with Gavi, together with Astral Slide, Astral Drift, and Escape Protocol. Being able to recur the Decrees with one of these and, for example, Archaeomancer seems quite strong!

Decree of Annihilation CardKingdom $2.79 TCGPlayer $9.81
Decree of Silence CardKingdom $4.99 TCGPlayer $22.99
Astral Slide CardKingdom $0.59 TCGPlayer $0.60
Gavi, Nest Warden CardKingdom $5.99 TCGPlayer $2.95
Astral Drift CardKingdom $0.25 TCGPlayer $0.71
Escape Protocol CardKingdom $0.25 TCGPlayer $0.45

#2 Bounty Hunter $8.96 (+317%)

Bounty Hunter

When Bounty Hunter was printed, it was the only card mentioning bounty counters and was the only card able to directly interact with these. Up until Mathas, Fiend Seeker was printed in Commander 2017, where we saw the counters return. We saw Bounty Hunter spike as well back then from about $0.53 to $5! But it never really took off and the price went down to about $2.50.

Now with the announcement of Chevill, Bane of Monsters in Ikoria, we have a third card mentioning bounty counters, and guess what happened? Bounty Hunter shot up again to almost $9. Time will tell, but if it follows the same trajectory as last time, Bounty Hunter will settle around $4.50.

Bounty Hunter CardKingdom $4.49 TCGPlayer $8.96
Mathas, Fiend Seeker CardKingdom $4.49 TCGPlayer $2.38

#3 Pemmin's Aura $9.99 (+135%)

Pemmin's Aura

With the printing of Zaxara, the Exemplary we finally have a Hydra tribal commander, which has spiked Unbound Flourishing ($9,32 +87%) which is invaluable in a tribal that has a lot of in their manacosts. But it has also peaked interest in Pemmin's Aura.

Imagine playing Zaxara, the Exemplary and enchanting it with Pemmin's Aura, you could tap it for and then use one of them to activate the aura to untap Zaxara, netting you . Not if you do this an infinite amount of times, you'll end up with infinite blue mana and can make infinite mana of any color from there.

Be aware that these prices are most likely bought out, and will come down somewhat.

Pemmin's Aura CardKingdom $4.49 TCGPlayer $9.99
Unbound Flourishing CardKingdom $6.99 TCGPlayer $9.32

Cheap Pickups

Please note: for our 'record low' we consider the price of the card over the past 7 years. Many cards have been even cheaper (a) decade(s) ago. Also note: some cards are still going down, and might be even cheaper pickups next week.
