Moggcatcher was +41.9% last week, and made it into the weekly winners on spot #3. This week it is the number #1 winner, gaining another 48.6%. People are clearly interested in buying this card, since supplies are low in most stores.
Check out last week's article for more on Moggcatcher.
Imagine that you are able to stop all one mana cards your opponent can resolve for the rest of the game. In Limited that's not very useful, not very good in Standard. But consider Modern, and even better: Legacy. Brainstorm, Ponder, Delver of Secrets, Monastery Swiftspear, Dark Ritual, Preordain, Lightning Bolt, Spell Pierce, Aether Vial, Duress, Thoughtseize, Sensei's Divining Top, Swords to Plowshares, Deathrite Shaman, Stifle, must I go on? And don't forget all the 1 mana sideboard cards that see play in Legacy.
Chalice of the Void is a very good card, and very good tech against many, many decks in Legacy. It slows down UR Delver, it can destroy combo decks. For most decks it is a threat that must be dealt with.
You can put Chalice of the Void for 1 on the table as early as turn 1. Some decks play sol lands like City of Traitors or Ancient Tomb. With no mana acceleration you can put it down on your turn 2.
Remember Narset, Enlightened Master? Remember how you can cheat your huge spells into play by creating extra combat phases? Check out the weekly winners from week 43, to read more about that. As expected, we see cards that have synergy with Narset, Enlightened Master gaining in price. Savage Beating is one of those cards.
Xenagos, the Reveler was once considered a $40 card. But, after Theros was released, its price plummeted to a price around the $12 mark. You can now get your copy for $8.70. But beware: it is not at its all time low yet.
Cheap pickup of the week: Sol Ring ($5.38) ALL TIME LOW
Do you want to get your hands on a MTG classic? Then this might be the time! Sol Ring (with original art) is now very cheap to get. If you don't mind getting a more modern version of the card, you can get your copies for $1.79, since Sol Ring was reprinted in Commander 2014.
