Spoiler season Dominaria United has been going on for a week now and a bunch of interesting cards have been spoiled. This also includes cards from Commander: Dominaria United that are being revealed. And this week we see the first price movements happening because of this. Interesting times and excited to see how the rest of the set unfolds!

Like every week, just in time for FNM, I'll now tell you about the cards that will be the talk of the town tonight!

Come discuss this week's price movements with us on Reddit.

#1 Zuberi, Golden Feather $8.99 (+90%)

Zuberi, Golden Feather

Zuberi is a Griffin lord from Mirage and a rare card. It costs to cast and for that you get a 3/3 Griffin with flying that gives all other griffins +1/+1. Another thing that is important to note, is that this card is on the reserved list. No new copies will enter the market ever, making it more rare and a very limited supply.

The spike has to do with the spoiling of Zeriam, Golden Wind in Commander: Dominaria United that indicates that griffins will be getting some new toys to play with. And in this case it is a griffin that can get you more griffins. Zeriam, Golden Wind says that whenever a Griffin you control deals combat damage to a player, create a 2/2 white Griffin creature token with flying. I still expect this rise in price has to do with speculation, but it is likely that people will try to make the tribal work in commander.

This leads us to another card that has gone up significantly this week for the very same reason, and that card is Griffin Canyon. Also a rare card on the reserved list, but this time from Visions. This land lets you untap a Griffin and give it +1/+1 until end of turn.

Griffin Canyon

There also are a few janky combos available with Griffin Canyon that can get you a creature with infinite power or makes Griffin Canyon a creature with infinite power. This combo usually revolves around Sylvan Awakening along with either Maskwood Nexus, Arcane Adaptation, or Xenograft.

#2 Teferi, Who Slows the Sunset $6.08 (+52%)

Teferi, Who Slows the Sunset

Teferi, Who Slows the Sunset is moving up! We already saw this card in Standard and in Pioneer. His +1 ability is especially important where you get to choose up to one target artifact, up to one target creature, and up to one target land. Untap the chosen permanents you control. Tap the chosen permanents you don't control. You gain 2 life. Being able to untap a mana dork and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is pretty good and gives you a bunch of extra mana to spend.

This week Teferi seems to be going up because of another new card that will be printed in Dominaria United. This card is Timeless Lotus and is an upgrade to Gilded Lotus in most situations. It costs , and comes into play tapped, but with a Teferi you can immediately untap it. This combo will be standard legal once the set releases, and will be legal in Pioneer as well. Not sure whether it will actually see play, but it may open the door to some interesting builds.

Devotion to Green by Varo

#3 Storm the Festival $3.00 (+71%)

Storm the Festival

This card mainly went up in the Innistrad: Double Feature set, but it is interesting to see that in the regular print the price also seems to gradually move up. Storm the Festival is a powerful sorcery for where you get to look at the top five cards of your library. You may put up to two permanent cards with mana value 5 or less from among them onto the battlefield. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order. Note that it also has flashback, so you can do it again or let it hit the graveyard first as discard cost for something or by just milling.

It is been doing well on MTGO in "Devotion to Green" Pioneer decks. Even though these decks play more colors than green, it still tries to get as many mana symbols onto the battlefield to feed Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Storm the Festival is on the top end of the mana curve, but shouldn't be hard to reach with the ramp, mana dorks, and untap abilities.

It sees less Commander play than I'd expect, but mana the 5 mana value restriction is simply making it not good enough for Commander. It seems mainly included in Tovolar, Dire Overlord builds.

Cheap Pickups

Please note: for our 'record low' we consider the price of the card over the past 7 years. Many cards have been even cheaper (a) decade(s) ago. Also note: some cards are still going down, and might be even cheaper pickups next week.
