A very interesting week where our weekly winners and our interests are dominated by spikes caused due to brewing for the new Standard (and for Modern). It is good to see some real, organic demand driven spikes!
Pelt Collector has gained some value and traction because of two reasons: brewing for the new Standard and brewing for Modern. In that last format, Pelt Collector is a piece in a new, Modern Zoo deck. Pelt Collector works great with Vexing Devil and both are dirt cheap (in mana). User Bringerofrain75 went 5-0 in a constructed Modern League with this very interesting list.
Outside Modern, Pelt Collector sees play in Mono Green Standard decks, Selesnya Stompy and Steel Leaf Stompy decks.
March of the Multitudes is quite the hype in standard. This card is one of those that feels powerful from the moment you first see it spoiled. But also raises the question: "can I make it work in a deck?". That question seems to have a positive answer, since both a and a token/ weenie archetype have been making headway this week, causing March of the Multitudes to spike. Check out these lists for context.
Please note that March of the Multitudes first spiked to $18; but fell back to $14.74 afterwards. Its market price has gone down since yesterday, signaling that players are not willing to buy into the card for this price tag. If decks running March of the Multitudes net some good results, the current price might stick.
The is much abrew with History of Benalia. As nobody really knows how the new Standard meta will pan out, we can probably be sure that History of Benalia will be seeing a lot of play. At least 4 different archetypes have netted 5-0 results on MTGO that play History of Benalia, either maindeck or sideboard. It is a safe bet that one or more of those decks come out on top in the new meta. No wonder that the card spiked, in the surge of brews using the card. In an effort to be inform you of all the different archetypes using the card, I will now list them below.
