Magic Real-Estate: Enemy Fetch lands

We don't often post an article that's not a Friday Weekly Winners one, but I wanted to give you some extra insights in the current state of the enemy colored fetch lands and that it currently may be a good opportunity to invest in your Magic real estate. Lets look a bit at these lands and see if we can find something interesting.

Modern Horizons 2 has reprinted the enemy color fetch lands and it seems they all have just passed their lowest price points and are very slowly starting to creep up again. Keep in mind that we just had the Las Vegas tournament which has sparked a renewed interest in paper (Modern) play. People may be picking up the lands to build their decks, of which fetch lands are often a critical part. I have deliberately occasionally been adding these fetch lands to the cheap pickups section of the Weekly Winners to make sure people are aware of these relatively low prices. Also don't forget that MTGStocks has a Fetch lands Handy List where all fetch lands are together.

We are mainly going to talk about the reprints from Modern Horizons 2, since those cost the least. The cheapest enemy color land currently is Marsh Flats around $19.99, while the most expensive one is Scalding Tarn at $36.39. The blue fetch lands have traditionally always been the more expensive ones. Scalding Tarn for example has been about $110 dollars at its peak for the Zendikar version.

My personal opinion is that if you need any of these enemy color fetch lands, now may be a good time to pick some up. When we look at the price trend of previous reprints we see that the price goes down quickly after they get spoiled, and prices will slowly start to creep up after 5 or 6 months after release. And that's exactly what we see happening here.

Marsh Flats: Modern Masters 2017

This is a screenshot of the price trajectory of Marsh Flats from Zendikar. We see the release of Modern Masters 2017 on March 17 2017 and see the price slowly creeping up again around September. You see the price quickly goes down a bit before the release of the set, meaning it got leaked or spoiled there.

Marsh Flats: Modern Horizons 2

Now when we look at the same timeframe around the release of Modern Horizons 2 we see the price quickly dwindling, and now, about 5 months later, it sees its first uptick in a while. We see this same effect with all the reprints of the enemy fetch lands.

TCGPlayer 10% Bonus Bucks

In case you missed the TCGplayer Black Friday Bonus Bucks, remember that they now also have their Cyber Monday 10% Kickback promotion as we speak and get these fetch lands for a little bit cheaper.

Card Kingdom Cyber Monday 10%

But also Card Kingdom currently has its Cyber Monday 10% store credit promotion running.

People love graphs, so here are all five enemy fetch lands and all their regular prints:
