Cards To Use With the New Warp Mechanic From Edge of Eternities
Warp Speed Ahead
By paying an alternate, lower Warp cost, you may cast any spell with this effect from your hand and gain its upsides for a turn, before it goes into exile, where you may cast it on a later turn. As someone whoโs always trying to find ways to get certain win conditions in Commander online faster, this seems like an incredibly strong ability thatโs sure to, pardon the pun, warp certain games around it.
Are you in mono-black trying to win by sacrificing creatures or artifacts, but donโt have the mana for a
These are but two of the many examples of the inherent power behind the Warp mechanic, and as such, I think itโs a good idea to look at some older cards that, if you choose to make a Warp-centric deck (perhaps around
Charred Foyer // Warped Space
The first and most prominent pick that comes to mind, especially if you happen to be running Tannuk at the helm, would have to be Charred Foyer // Warped Space.
This enchantment from
Yes the enchantment costs six to put out, but if youโre using Tannuk to warp stuff like
Hell, foil borderless versions only go for $2.50, and those look beautiful. Both price and utility-wise, one could do far worse in mono-red, and it even fits right at home in other decks, such as Prosper, Tome-Bound.

Pia Nalaar, Consul of Revival
Speaking of commanders that take advantage of Warp effects, next up we have Pia Nalaar, Consul of Revival, an underrated legendary Human Artificer from
Pia Nalaar rewards you for playing lands or casting spells from exile, which, given such new potential staples like
Think of Pia Nalaar as a cheaper
Available supply on the market for her is, like the previous card, quite highโฆ except for the halo foil masterpiece-style version, which goes for around $4. Weโve seen these premium variants, like

Wild-Magic Sorcerer
While weโre still hanging around in red, which seems to be especially Warp-heavy, itโs also worth mentioning Wild-Magic Sorcerer from
For four mana you give your first spell cast from exile each turn cascade, a classically powerful effect that should help establish your board state in no time. A 4/3 isnโt necessarily the best body for four mana in 2025, but if played early enough while everyone is establishing their own boards it could drastically help propel you to the head of the pack.
Itโs also worth mentioning that this doesnโt just happen during your turn, but each turn, so if you have anything that allows you to cast spells from exile on your opponentsโ turns this would trigger then as well. All in all not bad, and while this one has already jumped a bit in price since the $0.50 it was sitting at for three or so years, I think it has room to grow (especially if weโre leaning more and more into casting spells from exile) from its current $5.50 price point.
And of course, I would be remiss if I didnโt mention that these D&D cards, while not impossible to reprint, often evade such reprints due to the implicit nature of cross-overs. This means if you want one of these and think they might go up, nowโs the time to get it.

Mirror of Life Trapping
Lastly is a bit of a weirder mention that may not have fully reached its potential quite yet, but one worth shouting out with all the exile shenanigans weโre suddenly seeing, and itโs also from
While its execution is more obtuse than the more straightforward cards previously mentioned, thereโs something to be said about a card that plays around with zones so much in such a unique way. It takes some finagling, but this could help you keep cards that are meant to only last a single turn on the battlefield for an indefinite period, and if you double up on Warp effects with someone like Tannuk, you can get stuff like the previously mentioned Blightsteel Colossus on the field permanently that much faster.
The Mirror is also a bit of a stax piece too that de-incentivizes your opponents from playing creature spells until they know they can see them fully hit the board. This one isnโt really a โbuy it nowโ recommendation, more a โkeep an eye on this oneโ recommendation; I do believe this cardโs time will come, and we are inching ever closer to that moment.
And for just a quarter thereโs no reason not to add a copy or two to pad out your next online order or trade, right?

In Conclusion
There are more Warp recommendations I could throw out there (
Still, when all you need is that one turn to get there, and youโre able to Warp something in for a drastically lower cost, thatโs really all you are looking for, and in that sense Warp is one for the books.
