Onto the Weekly Winners!

#1 Quicksilver Elemental $14.89 (+2878%)

This rare Elemental from Mirrodin went from absolute bulk to almost a $15 card. Quicksilver Elemental's ability makes it gain all activated abilities of a target creature until end of turn. And recently we saw a new card being previewed in Universes Beyond: Final Fantasy that would very much like to be "copied." That creature is Vivi Ornitier.

With these two cards you can make infinite mana. By activating Quicksilver Elemental and copying Vivi's ability you can make three mana, since the Elemental is a 3/4. You can then activate the Quicksilver's copy ability again. Each time you copy Vivi's ability you will get a "new instance" of the ability and because of that you'll get around the "once per turn" restriction. Every iteration will net you two mana.

Vivi itself is going to be a very popular commander and if not played as commander it will definitely find its way into any spellslinger deck. And while we're on the subject of Vivi, lets also look at Blazing Shoal, because that card has also spiked in the past week because of this new Wizard. You can pitch a red card with a high mana value, like Volcanic Salvo, and pump Vivi's power to make a bunch of mana on the spot.

Blazing Shoal

#2 Moonmist $4.89 (+1530%)

This common instant from Innistrad has gone through the roof, and I can see why players are getting excited. Not only does it transform all Humans on the battlefield, but it also acts as a Fog effect preventing all non-Werewolf damage. The card was mostly forgotten since its release back in 2011, but with the new Universes Beyond: Final Fantasy transform cards being previewed, suddenly everyone wants a copy.

The card was basically bulk at around $0.25, but shot up to nearly $5. When you're playing a deck around the new DFCs like Terra, Magical Adept or Clive, Ifrit's Dominant, making Moonmist work is easy. It lets you bypass those tricky transform conditions while also potentially saving yourself from a big attack.

Another reason for the huge spike is Moonmist's limited supply. It was only reprinted once since Innistrad, and that was on The List and that barely adds copies to the supply. The fact that it uses such a specific mechanic means we probably won't see it reprinted outside of another Innistrad set. Its too early to tell whether this strategy will actually be good, but since Universes Beyond: Final Fantasy is extremely popular, it's likely that you'll be seeing this card pop up in Commander decks.

Terra, Magical Adept
Clive, Ifrit's Dominant

#3 Inventory Management $9.04 (+617%)

And while we're talking about cards from Universes Beyond, let's discuss this uncommon instant from Universes Beyond: Fallout. Inventory Management lets you move all your Equipment and Auras around as you please, and it has split second for extra safety. The price jumped when the Final Fantasty decks were previewed. But in particular, this one is spiking because of the Limit Break deck with Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER as commander. When you're playing an Equipment deck, having the ability to switch them around at instant speed is very useful.

Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER

This isn't the first time Inventory Management has spiked. Back in November, when Captain America, First Avenger was revealed, the card jumped to about $5 before falling back down. Whether its price holds this time is not known, but with the Limit Break precon making it easier for players to get into Equipment strategies, Inventory Management is a card that you definitely want to include.

Cheap Pickups

Please note: for our 'record low' we consider the price of the card over the past seven years. Many cards were even cheaper (a) decade(s) ago. Also note: some cards are still going down, and might be even cheaper pickups next week.

Wave Goodbye $4.38 - Moving up!

Wave Goodbye has been identified by the MTGStocks Premium Penny Stocks feature as a card that has reached its bottom and is starting a consistent uptrend.

Adeline, Resplendent Cathar $2.15 - Slowly moving up

White Tower of Ecthelion $11.97 - Slowly moving up
