Onto the Weekly Winners!

#1 The Enigma Jewel $7.98 (+141%)

This artifact from The Lost Caverns of Ixalan has been sitting in bulk boxes for around a dollar since its release in 2023. For one blue mana, you get an artifact that enters tapped and makes two colorless mana that can only be spent on activated abilities. Funnily enough the card once presold for about $20, but quickly dwindled down.

But things have changed a lot since Aetherdrift was released; The Enigma Jewel spiked hard. The reason is a new Izzet artifacts deck that's making waves in Standard, centered around Repurposing Bay, a new Aetherdrift card that functions like a Birthing Pod along with Simulacrum Synthesizer. I cannot believe how strong that card is, especially after playing against this deck in Arena. The Repurposing Bay's activation cost would normally make it too clunky, but The Enigma Jewel provides exactly the mana you need to activate it every turn.

The deck is part midrange, part combo, running value artifacts like Collector's Vault, but also featuring a combo with Radiant Lotus and Boommobile. While the Izzet version did very well at Pro Tour Aetherdrift, a Grixis variant is also gaining in popularity. This version plays cards like Demonic Junker and Oildeep Gearhulk as well.

#2 Graveborn Muse $19.41 (+28%)

Here's an old friend from Legions making a big comeback. Graveborn Muse has shot up from around $3 to nearly $20. The reason for this spike is pretty clear if you've been following the last couple of Weekly Winners: Aetherdrift's precon, Eternal Might.

And while we've mostly discussed spikes because of Hashaton, Scarab's Fist, it seems like Graveborn Muse mainly does well with the precon's front-facing commander, Temmet, Naktamun's Will. While Hashaton cares about discard effects, Temmet wants to draw cards, buffing each of your zombies based on how many cards you've drawn that turn. Graveborn Muse's ability to draw you a card for each Zombie you control makes it a perfect engine for Temmet's strategy.

What's interesting is that despite this synergy, EDHREC data shows only about 20% of Temmet, Naktamun's Will players are including Graveborn Muse in their builds. The life loss might be scaring some people off; but in a deck that's drawing tons of cards, you should have plenty of ways to come out on top. With no real reprint since 10th Edition in 2007, there isn't much supply, so it doesn't take too much for this card to go up.

#3 Inti, Seneschal of the Sun $4.23 (+61%)

Here's a card that's doubled in price since Aetherdrift's release. Inti, Seneschal of the Sun, released in The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, shot up this week. Inti lets you discard a card whenever you attack, buffing a creature and giving it trample. But also letting you "draw" a card.

The reason for Inti's spike is that it's showing up in a new Standard brew, the Jeskai Oculus deck, which has been gaining traction since the Pro Tour. This deck revolves around Abhorrent Oculus, that massive flyer that wants cards in your graveyard. The deck leans heavily into draw and discard synergies with cards like Fear of Missing Out and Steamcore Scholar, with Proft's Eidetic Memory buffing creatures when drawing cards.

Inti plays multiple roles in this deck. It helps discard Abhorrent Oculus, helps you loot through the deck, and grants trample to your creatures. That last ability is relevant when your creatures are getting huge from Proft's Eidetic Memory. While we're not sure if this deck is here to stay, for now it definitely is an interesting one to follow.
