Bloomburrow is making waves mainly in Commander, but we've also got one Modern spike!

Like every week, just in time for FNM, I'll tell you about the Magic: the Gathering cards that'll be the talk of the town tonight! Come discuss this week's price movements with us on Discord.

Onto the Weekly Winners!

#1 Psychic Possession $15.00 (+321%)

This rare from Dissension is a delightful odd card that hasn't been reprinted since May 2006. It enchants one of your opponents and you get to draw a card whenever that opponent draws a card. However, you have to skip your own draw step. I don't think that it'll come as a surprise that this card has not been going up because of a constructed format, but rather due to casual Commander play.

Ms. Bumbleflower (Borderless) (Raised Foil)

And in this instance it's of course a card from Bloomburrow that's making this card shoot up. In this case it's Ms. Bumbleflower (Borderless) that's causing the spike. When she's in play, target opponent gets to draw a card whenever you play a spell. But whenever that ability has resolved a second time during the turn, you get to draw two cards yourself. Besides that she'll buff creatures with +1/+1 counters and flying. The interaction with Psychic Possession seems pretty clear. Whenever your opponent gets to draw a card because of Ms. Bumbleflower, you get to draw a card as well. Meaning that as long as you can cast spells, you (and your opponent, obviously) get to draw cards.

Ms. Bumbleflower is the front facing commander of the Peace Offering Commander deck from Commander: Bloomburrow and people want to get Psychic Possession as an upgrade to the deck.

#2 Nut Collector $3.70 (+140%)

It shouldn't come as a surprise that this card has something to do with Bloomburrow. Nut Collector may not be a cute furry creature itself, but it does give support for Squirrels, giving you one on your upkeep and buffing them when there's plenty of stuff in your graveyard. While there are plenty of new Squirrels and support cards in Bloomburrow, it's mainly Hazel of the Rootbloom (Borderless) that's pushing the prices for these cards.

Hazel of the Rootbloom (Borderless) (Raised Foil)

Hazel is a Squirrel commander that technically would work in any token deck, but is simply best for Squirrels. Not only does Hazel give you copies of tokens, but can also be used to churn out a bunch of mana, assuming you have tokens to tap. While this is the third Golgari Squirrel commander that's printed, it does feel like the strongest one of the three. And with this push for new Squirrel decks comes the need for owning the cards for these decks. Nut Collector is one of those cards that you want for this deck.

Hazel is the commander of the Squirreled Away Commander precon. So if you want to build a Squirrel deck with this commander, that deck will be a good starting point!

#3 Consign to Memory $4.49 (+55%)

Let's get one card in this week's Winners that isn't related to Bloomburrow or Commander. Consign to Memory can counter triggered abilities or colorless spells, but you can also replicate it as often as you'd like as long as you can pay the . This blue instant has found its way into a lot of Modern sideboards.

It works very well against Modern Eldrazi where you get to counter both the Eldrazi spell and the cast trigger that many Eldrazi have. But not only that, it's no secret that Nadu has been running rampant in Modern and a ban seems far away. Consign to Memory can also be used to counter Nadu's ability, as well as Shuko, and thus may be worthwhile to board in against the deck. It also counters Ruby Medallion, one of the other rampant cards in the current Modern meta.

This uncommon from Modern Horizons 3 bottomed out slightly below a dollar, but had quickly climbed to about $5 earlier in the week, and now seems to be on a decline again. After the initial spike it seems people checked their draft chaff and found some copies to list online. But with the speed that sets are being previewed and released, Modern Horizons 3 already seems to be old news, and it's uncertain how much supply will be added.

#4 Worldfire $31.10 (+83%)

Oh, Worldfire. One of those cards that's guaranteed to make you a bunch of friends! For the low price of nine mana you get to exile all permanents, exile all cards from people's hands and graveyards, and set each player's life total to one. Are you having fun yet?

The only reason I could find for this card to spike is the newly printed commander The Infamous Cruelclaw. You build a deck with 98 lands, Worldfire, and the Weasel as commander. All you need to do is make sure that The Infamous Cruelclaw deals combat damage, then you get to flip your library until you find Worldfire, blow up everything and try to beat down your opponents with (for example) manlands.

On Reddit I also found the above version of this deck that doesn't play Worldfire, but does play some other super fun cards that your playgroup is absolutely going to love!

Cheap Pickups

Please note: for our 'record low' we consider the price of the card over the past seven years. Many cards were even cheaper (a) decade(s) ago. Also note: some cards are still going down, and might be even cheaper pickups next week.

Rampaging Yao Guai $2.91 - Moving up!

Rampaging Yao Guai has been identified by the MTGStocks Premium Penny Stocks feature as a card that has reached its bottom and is starting a consistent uptrend.

Toxic Deluge $4.73 - Moving up

Ajani, Mentor of Heroes $7.00 - Moving down
