#1 Seeds of Innocence $25.47 (+292%)

This sorcery from Mirage shot up this past week. For you get to destroy all artifacts on the board, giving the artifact's controllers life equal to the mana values. This isn't the first spike we've seen of this card. Back in November 2021 we discussed this card in the Weekly Winners. Back then the card was being played in Legacy sideboards. The 8-cast deck was one of the most prominent decks in the meta and people used this card as tech against it.

One of the most important characteristics of this card is that it's on the Reserved List, meaning that it's relatively easy for the price to be manipulted since there's a low supply and none will ever be added. So only a little nudge is needed to let people make a run for their copies.

The reason for the spike this week seems to be Ygra, Eater of All, from the upcoming Bloomburrow set. Ygra makes all other creatures Food artifacts, and thus a Seeds of Innocence will wipe out the entire board, leaving a huge Ygra behind. This old sorcery is to date the cheapest unconditional mass artifact removal available in Magic. Cards like Viridian Revel and Fangren Marauder will likely also see play in the same deck, and of the first of those we also see some price movement already.

#2 Ob Nixilis, the Adversary $10.98 (+175%)

Ob Nixilis, the Adversary is a planeswalker that can put a non-legendary copy of itself into play when you cast it as long as you sacrifice a creature to its Casualty ability. Ob Nixilis can make your opponents discard cards or lose life, and can protect itself by creating 1/1 Devils.

This card is being bought a lot more recently due to the inclusion of it in Mardu Energy decks in Modern. The deck has been slowly making its way onto the leaderboards since a lot of energy cards were printed in Modern Horizons 3. These cards include Ocelot Pride, Guide of Souls, and Ajani, Nacatl Pariah. And especially for this last one it doesn't hurt to be able to sacrifice a Cat to Ob Nixilis so that we can flip Ajani to its Planeswalker side.

Other cards from this deck are also doing well. Ocelot Pride is a great card for only a single mana.

#3 The Master, Multiplied $2.90 (+116%)

The price of this Time Lord Rogue from Universes Beyond: Doctor Who is starting to show some movement. The Master, Multiplied makes sure that the legend rule doesn't apply to tokens you control and it has Myriad. The reason for the spike seems to come mostly from his last ability: triggered abilities you control can't cause you to sacrifice or exile creature tokens you control.

A newly printed mythic from Universes Beyond: Assassin's Creed seems to be the reason for the card the movement. Altair Ibn-La'Ahad is a Human Assassin that, when he attacks, can create tapped and attacking tokens of creatures that you've exiled with a memory counter on it. However, you have to exile these tokens at end of combat. But with The Master, Multiplied in play, you cannot exile these tokens and thus they stay around. And because of The Master, Multiplied's legend rule ability, you can attack multiple times and thus also have multiple of these copies of legendary creatures around.

That being said, in Bloomburrow another card was previewed that works well with The Master, Multiplied. The Otter Wizard Stormsplitter is a hasty creature that can generate copies of itself that you'd also have to exile at the next end step. And again, with the Time Lord in play, you don't have to do that anymore.

Please note: for our 'record low' we consider the price of the card over the past seven years. Many cards were even cheaper (a) decade(s) ago. Also note: some cards are still going down, and might be even cheaper pickups next week.
