Weekly Winners (18)

Last week was uninteresting finance wise, but this week is actually worse. So I will give you the 3 weekly winners again, but two of them were winners last week, so not much has changed. Once again, just in time for FNM, I present you the cards that will be the talk of the town tonight.

 #1 Ragnar +81.8% ($39.99)

Ragnar

If you thought that the Tiny Leaders hype was over? Think again. The hype train is running again, and this week it stopped at the Legends set once again. Ragnar spiked hard this week and will probably remain high after this spike as well. The card is on the reserved list, and from Legends, which means that there is a very limited amount of cards in circulation.

Remember Tetsuo Umezawa from a few weeks ago? Well, its happening again. Ragnar is just another underwhelming legend that happens to be a 3 CMC legend in Bant colors, making it a possible tiny leader. But there is a difference, there are more possibilities when you want to play Bant in tiny leaders:

So if you want to play bant in tiny leaders there is still hope, since there is one leader left for under a dollar. As xDAViDiOTx just pointed out on Reddit, Derevi is banned in Tiny Leaders, so not an option.

The spike of Ragnar is a bit more interesting than Tetsuo Umezawa, because you don't really NEED that card to play bant, so the demand will be a lot lower compared to Tetsuo Umezawa, which is the only 3 CMC legend in its colors.

#2 Savor the Moment +21.2% ($5.49)

Savor the Moment

Savor the Moment is also back again, gaining almost $1 compared to last week. And you know how little trade there is in the markets when just $1 increase will put a card on #2 in the weekly winners. But still, Savor the Moment is an interesting card. But just not broken enough to see real competitive play.

#3 Dragonlord Ojutai +16,5% ($32.66)

Dragonlord Ojutai

Dragonlord Ojutai was weekly winner #1 last week, and is back again, but now in the third spot. It gained $2.66 in price since last Wednesday, so traders and collectors are certainly not giving up on this dragon yet.

Last week I warned you about the high price tag of Dragonlord Ojutai and that I expect it to go down. It seems that is not happening, but I will still uphold my warning; I still think the card is overpriced.

More from Peter:

Weekly Winners 2021 - 36

Just like last week, the Commander: Innistrad: Midnight Hunt spoilers are the main factor of influence on the markets this week. There are enough cards spoiled for the brewing to commence and we expect a lot more movement in the coming weeks!

Like every week, just in time for (digital) FNM, I'll now tell you about the cards that will be the talk of the (digital) town tonight!

Catalyst Stone Daybreak Ranger Oboro, Palace in the Clouds

Weekly Winners 2021 - 13

This week we saw a lot of interesting movement. Most of it caused by Strixhaven spoilers, but the old frame fetchlands spiked as well.

Deserted Temple Mox Tantalite Windswept Heath

Weekly Winners 2021 - 12

For the first time since the COVID pandemic hit, our interest page looks like normal for a change! Many (huge) spikes from different sets and eras. I choose to see this as an omen of better times ahead!

Chain of Smog Illumination Magma Sliver

Weekly Winners 2021 - 10

Somewhat of an odd week. Not really any spikes that has one really obvious or notable reason and of course still a lot of older cards moving up.

Selective Memory Pearl Medallion Zombie Master

Weekly Winners 2021 - 08

The most interesting week in a long, long time! Maybe I'm a but biased due to my love for Legacy, but this week that format is the biggest driving factor behind the three weekly winners.

Ethereal Forager Stifle Allosaurus Shepherd

Weekly Winners 2021 - 07

An interesting week, again driven by old card speculation and EDH. But we also have a special edition of Cheap Pickups, with a new way to look at cards that are (still) cheap pickups, but might go up later.

Shivan Dragon Sapphire Medallion Elvish Champion

Weekly Winners 2021 - 05

A strange and eventful week in the world of finance. Where you'd expect tons of cards to spike due to new brews, we mainly see a new hausse of reserved list cards being bought out. And also non-reserved list cards that happen to be MTG classics.
