After a nice long holiday I'm back again! Thanks everyone for your messages. And it is an interesting week to be back. The top cards of PT: KTK are infuencing the market. So, once again, just in time for FNM, I present you the cards that will be the talk of the town tonight.

#1 Icefall Regent +243.5% ($4,50)

Icefall Regent

Icefall Regent came from nowhere on PT: KTK. And it was quite a surprise that it performed so well in the tournament. We could see that the new Standard meta consisted out of many control decks. And in that light Icefall Regent  is a fitting card. The Pro Tour runner-up Shota Yasooka played 3 in his deck, and it served him well!

His UB-Control deck consists out of just 6 creatures (all 5+ mana bombs) and a load of destruction spells. Add some card advantage, discard and counterspells and you have a pretty resilient control deck.

And sure, Icefall Regent did not turn out to be the most expensive card in Standard after the Pro Tour, but it is the biggest and most surprising winner of the weekend.

#2 Den Protector +146.9% ($5.94)

Den Protector

You might call Den Protector the new Snapcaster Mage. If you consider that it is far less 'snappy', since you have to morph and unmorph first, but it will give you card advantage and a way to recycle any card that was removed or used before. You can even assure that you get that last land you need by recycling your fetchland.

Pro Tour Hall of Famer (and fellow Dutchman) Bram Snepvangers performed well with his Mono Green Standard deck, which features three copies of Den Protector. He finished in 13th place.

#3 Dragonlord Silumgar +135.0% ($14.45)

Dragonlord Silumgar

Dragonlord Silumgar is also played in UB-Control, the same deck as mentioned before. With a price around $6 the card turned out to be quite undervalued in the week leading up to the Pro Tour. Expect the price of this card to keep on being quite high. Never forget that a lot of players watch the Pro Tour as a way to find new deck strategies they will start applying in their own FNM's. And UB-Control is going to be a deck that will be widely used. And you need at least 2 copies of Dragonlord Silumgar to make that happen.

Just like last week, the Commander: Innistrad: Midnight Hunt spoilers are the main factor of influence on the markets this week. There are enough cards spoiled for the brewing to commence and we expect a lot more movement in the coming weeks!

Like every week, just in time for (digital) FNM, I'll now tell you about the cards that will be the talk of the (digital) town tonight!

Catalyst Stone Daybreak Ranger Oboro, Palace in the Clouds

Weekly Winners 2021 - 13

This week we saw a lot of interesting movement. Most of it caused by Strixhaven spoilers, but the old frame fetchlands spiked as well.

Chain of Smog Illumination Magma Sliver

Somewhat of an odd week. Not really any spikes that has one really obvious or notable reason and of course still a lot of older cards moving up.

Selective Memory Pearl Medallion Zombie Master

Weekly Winners 2021 - 08

The most interesting week in a long, long time! Maybe I'm a but biased due to my love for Legacy, but this week that format is the biggest driving factor behind the three weekly winners.

Ethereal Forager Stifle Allosaurus Shepherd

An interesting week, again driven by old card speculation and EDH. But we also have a special edition of Cheap Pickups, with a new way to look at cards that are (still) cheap pickups, but might go up later.

A strange and eventful week in the world of finance. Where you'd expect tons of cards to spike due to new brews, we mainly see a new hausse of reserved list cards being bought out. And also non-reserved list cards that happen to be MTG classics.
