Trade continues to be at a low point. There is little movement on the market, we even have the same weekly winner this week. But there are still some cards that are interesting to cover! Like every week, just in time for FNM, this morning I'm bringing you up to speed on the cards that will be the talk of the town tonight!

Mesmeric Orb is the weekly winner. Again. There is so little movement on the market that this card ended up at the top of our list again. Check out Weekly Winners #44 for more on Mesmeric Orb.
Those who watch our interests closely might ask why I don't see Reef Worm as the weekly winner (+918%). The reason is simple: Commander 2014 is set to be released today. We usually see that the prices of unreleased cards are either way too high or way too low. In the case of Reef Worm, we saw an initial price of $0.50 (8 days ago). These early prices are not based on a 'real' supply and demand market, since no products are being opened yet, and there is no trade yet. The only information we have is the price people are willing to pay at this time to get the card before it is released.
But still. A shout out to Reef Worm, it's a fun card. And I want a playset!
Battlefield Forge broke the $10 mark yesterday! And that's interesting information. We have seen the Apocalypse pain lands popping up in our interests for some time now, and now one of the lands makes it into the weekly winners. Due to the Standard rotation, players had to find new and efficient lands to fix their mana base. In M15 the Apocalypse pain lands were reprinted (again) to fill that slot.
Battlefield Forge is not the first pain land to break the $10 mark, but it is currently the most valuable pain land on the market. Other lands have spiked in the past months, but none of them were able to retain their original value. This might be different with Battlefield Forge, since it shows a more 'natural' price increase:
And because I love graphs, here is another one, lining up all Apocalypse printings of the pain lands:
Price of Progress shows a spike this week, and the popularity of UR Burn in legacy is the cause of this. Price of Progress is a solid burn card, that sees play in the mono red burn deck. Against decks that use a lot of duals Price of Progress can be a real game finisher. In (mono red) Burn, when your opponent has 3 duals out, you can tap two mountains for Price of Progress, and then sac those mountains for Fireblast. That's 10 damage!
In UR Burn Price of Progress is a 2-slot sideboard card, that can be boarded in against dual-intensive decks. In (mono red) Burn Price of Progress is a 4-off mainboard card, because it gives you the opportunity to win in the quickest way possible. In that deck Price of Progress is boarded out when playing against decks that can fetch for basics instead of duals.
The small spike in Price of Progress tells me that not all Legacy players own a playset of the card yet, and this is a good opportunity to get the card, since it is now played in two archetypes.
Loser of the week: Wurmcoil Engine -8.9% ($19.57)
Wurmcoil Engine is down and the reason is simple: Commander 2014. This powerful card gets a reprint today and an increase in supply will lower the price. But keep in mind, it is still a solid card in many formats. It sees (fringe) play in Modern, Legacy and Vintage. And many casual and EDH-players want to run this card.
Cheap pickup of the week: Khans fetch ALL TIME LOW
The reprinted fetchlands have been on an all time low for weeks, since their release they kept going down. Slowly but surely. They are this week's cheap pickup because both Flooded Strand and Polluted Delta seem to have bottomed out. The other lands might go down some more, but it seems that the lands are now settling into their all time lows.
